Want to be an umpire?
There is always a need for umpires, below are requirements to join an umpire crew.
In order to begin you must be aged 10+ and have taken at least District 62's Fast Start clinic.
D62 schedule of clinics, certification requirements and other information can be found at http://d62.info/index.shtml.
FVLL has loaner equipment umpires can use each game, including:
Chest protectors, shin guards, masks, outer shirts, caps, ball bags, ball-strike indicator, plate brushes.
Umpires can always use their own equipment.
FVLL also provides cold drinks and lunch (Spring)/Snacks (Fall).*
Umpires need to provide: Grey or black pants, protective cup (home plate), undershirt, underwear, belt, socks, closed toe shoes, their time and a willingness to learn.
*Meals will not be provided for Umpires working toward their Volunteer Buyout Reimbursement
